wishing you a crisp summer/fall weekend

{orange sunflowers,
from our market in guelph}
today was a perfect
late summer day.
the weather was crisp and sunny
and i saw my first autumn tree
whose leaves were beginning to turn
orange, yellow, and red.

in celebration,
i brought home a gorgeous armful
of orange sunflowers this evening
and arranged them on our new kitchen table
in the lovely green pitcher
that was at one time my mother's,
and at another time my aunt's,
and they lovingly let me take it
to ontario with me.

{also on the table is my williams-sonoma cookbook...
it was a wedding shower gift, and it's one of my favorites}

tonight paul's gone to more jazz shows
(this weekend will be ripe with them...
it's the guelph jazz festival!)
but i'm exhausted
and look forward to an evening of
relaxing on our comfy new couch
eating ben&jerry's ice cream
(straight from the tub, of course)
reading maya angelou
and watching a girly movie.

i hope you all have a lovely weekend!
...and for my family and friends back home
in vancouver and victoria...
i'm thinking about you
and i miss you.

  8. Sorry for spamming you, you know it's not my policy, but I just want to tell all participants of the "A piece of me" game that I've moved my blog to welovetoothfairy.com!

    btw... if you want to follow me, you'll need to sign up again, as I've noticed people were having trouble following me, so I've deleted the old google connect!
